What should I bring & wear to Juvenile court, and other advice?

I was charged for underage consumption in the state of Tennessee about a week ago. It was an honest mistake, and one of my first times drinking, I get caught.

I intend on dressing nice, wearing a tie, and such. But, what should I bring with me to juvenile court?

I'm a pretty good student with good attendance, and I'm an athlete, mentioning I've already been taken care of by my parents and coaching staff.

What advice can you give me?What should I bring %26amp; wear to Juvenile court, and other advice?
Dressing nice will help. Bringing in report cards, letters vouching for your good character from teachers and coaches, and report cards will also help.

But the most thing that you can bring with you is a good attitude. You should be contrite -- you made a mistake, after all -- and let the court know that you understand that you screwed up. Don't offer a whiny excuse or try to blame someone else for your mistake. Own it, tell the judge that you're very sorry and that you're taking a good hard look at your friends and what kind of an influence they're having on you. Tell the judge that you're there to answer for what you've done and that you're resolved to not do it again.

Recognition of a willingness to take responsibility for your own wrongdoing is probably the best thing you can bring to court with you. The sentence is going to suck, but it will be a lot less sucky than it would be if you act like this somehow wasn't your fault.

You are already on the right foot by dressing well and looking for the right things to say.

The important thing here is to avoid saying that it was an honest mistake?

How could that be? You were either drinking, or you weren't.

Admit your mistakes, explain to the judge the punishments already meted out to you by both coaching staff and parents, treat the judge with respect, yes sir/ma'am etc at all times.

Avoid the 'I'll never do it again', if that comes up try answering with, ';Your Honor, I could tell you that I will never do it again, and I would mean it, I would much rather prove it to you, my parents and my coaches through my actions';.

Accept the punishment handed down, and don't do it again.
getting caught drinking underage is not an honest mistake. Are you trying to say you mistook coors for pepsi? You tripped and landed under the beer bong?

You intentionally broke the law and I assure you that the judge will not go easy on you because ';you are a good student';. He will treat you the same as he has treated every other minor who intentionaly broke the law. Wear a dress if you want but it will not change the outcome of your court appearence.
