Can anybody give me any advice about egg allergies in babies and how to safely check if my baby has it?

Both myself and my partner had it as babies and so we are worried that our 9mth old son may have it. So far I have not used it in his meals and wonder if there is a safe way to check if he has it without making him ill. ThanksCan anybody give me any advice about egg allergies in babies and how to safely check if my baby has it?
My son was allergic to pretty much anything we put in his mouth to be fair!!!

It was trial and error for the first 18 months of his life.

We always had piriton in the cupboard if anything went wrong and priority clearance at the doctors lol.

I have him a hard boiled egg and guess what...out came the hives - head to toe in seconds!! After a dose of medicine he was fine.

I had to be prescribed this so i wouldn't suggest you just going and buying it off the shelf!

Have you tried giving him foods with egg in them - cakes etc? That could be a good place to start maybe.

My son was only allergic to the egg in it's natural form - he could eat cake mixture etc!!

Funny little things aren't they lol.

Good luckCan anybody give me any advice about egg allergies in babies and how to safely check if my baby has it?
Most egg allergies are with the white of the egg. I would suggest hard boiling an egg and giving him half of the yolk (which has less allergens than the white) And observing for any negative effects. Do it at breakfast so you have the whole day to watch him. If he doesn't seem to have a problem, give him a little more next time and then finally introduce some white with the yolk.

Eggs are an *excellent* food for babies, cholesteral is crucial for brain development.
