My neighbors and friends always cook and I mooch. I want to cook a bunch of food for everyone. Need a recipe that impresses that isn't too hard or time consuming to make. Possibly a stew or something for lots of people. Just advice in general can help.I want to show my friends that I am capable of cooking, any recipe advice?
Stews and things of that nature are nearly always time consuming, they require a LOT or prep work. However, a garlic or cream pasta is fairly simple.
Garlic pasta consists of olive oil, let's say one garlic (minced), sauteed onions (until sweet), fresh parsley, and some fried garlic teeth just for flavor. And of course, freshly grated parmesan!
Serve this with perhaps some mushrooms that have been topped with bruscheta, or a beshamel sauce with spinach, or some asparagus that has been in the oven with olive oil and vinagrette
For meat, perhaps some chicken tenders that have been cooked in lemon and white wine/sherry on top of the pasta.

Instead of garlic pasta, you may want to make a sauce of heavy cream, milk, shallots, and a mixed white cheese with Sherry.I want to show my friends that I am capable of cooking, any recipe advice?
Brown some hamburger and cook until no longer pink, drain off the grease and add a can of Manwich and make sloppy joes. 1 pound of hamburger for 1 can of Manwich so if you make more multiple it. You can buy a bag of salad mix, salad dressing and have chips and dip too.
You could also make chili with beans-hamburger (or ground turkey) drained and a can of kidney beans (or whatever kind you like) and canned tomatoes. I like kidney, black and pinto and I use about 2 pounds of ground beef. You could serve with crackers or you could make a box of corn bread. Shredded cheese, chopped onions and corn chips in a bowl so they can add there own.
You can brown the ground beef and taco seasoning (dry in a packet) and buy soft %26amp; hard tacos and they can make their own tacos. Buy shredded cheese, bagged lettuce and taco sauce. Have chopped onions and chopped tomatoes.
Hamburgers and hot dogs with baked French fries or onion rings. Baked beans in a can-warm it up with a little brown sugar.
You could buy some Hamburger Helper %26amp; a salad.
Boxed macaroni %26amp; cheese and fish sticks or fish patties. Salad %26amp; fruit or Jello.
Canned tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Make baked potatoes and toppings. Shredded cheese, sour cream, butter, green onions, cooked bacon or bacon bits from a jar. You could even cook a can of mushrooms in a little butter.
You could buy frozen pizza or the kind you cook and add your favorite toppings. Cheese, veggie, sausage, pepperoni or deluxe with everything.
You could go to the library and check out the cookbooks for ideas. Hope this helps some.

Alpine eggs.
You need cheese, eggs (1-2 per person) a baking pan and butter (for greasing, and for a little bit of butter on top).
Just grate the cheese, put about half in the greased pan, break the eggs in to the pan over the cheese, add the rest of the cheese, fleck with butter (optional) and put in the oven.
The recipebook says that for three people as a main course, you use six large eggs, 350 grams of cheddar cheese, and some salt and pepper to put on top.
For those proportions, the book says put in a preheated oven at gas mark 4, 350 F or 180 C, for 15 minutes. Sprinkle chopped chives (optional) over just before serving.
You can also use Gruyere cheese.
Understand what you have to do.
Work out the order you need to start cooking the ingredients.
Do all of the prep work first.
Get out everything you will need to use.
Master one dish at a time.
Mashed Potatoes with a stew is a good side.
Use mince for your stew if you want speed, but if you want a good stew use gravy beef or stewing steak.
They will take longer to cook, but it will give your friends that big meaty taste.
Do not over-season and taste test regularly.
in a crock pot put 2 smoked ham shanks, 1 bag of dry navy beans, cover beans with water, add 2 chicken boullion cubes, salt, pepper, a pinch of sage, garlic powder and parsley. turn on high for one hour, cover, and turn to low and let simmer, occasionally stirring for 6-8 hrs. the meat will fall off the bone. fish out the bones and they are ok for the dog. shred meat up with a fork and stir. bake some cornbread and serve. good southern classic;) bean soup and cornbread. easy, filling, and freezes well. have a salad too:D
How about potatoes?
Take 2 sweet potatoes
4 red skinned potatoes
6 regular potatoes
peel, cube and boil them for 3 minuted in salt water
strain, mix in bowl with oil tarragon salt and pepper
then sread on baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
It sounds hard but it's not and OMY is it good!!!
Just go to Sam's Club and buy a giant bag of seafood mix.
Saute the food in a garlic butter sauce. Just melt a stick of butter in a sauce pan and add garlic powder and whatever else you want. It would take like 20 minutes and even a retarded moron like me can cook it. And I have ADD.
There are lots of quick, easy, and delicious recipes posted at The Crazy Kitchen.
