Does anyone have any experience or advice about Schizencephaly?

My sister's unborn baby was just diagnosed with Schizencephaly. The cleft is on the right side of the baby's brain.

Any advice or words of wisdom?Does anyone have any experience or advice about Schizencephaly?

  1. My name is Matt and our son Noah was born with schizencephaly. He is an amazing boy with a wonderful smile. I wish I could say something magical to put your fears at rest, but that isn't the case. What I can say is that every case is different and the disabilities can be very minor or in our case more severe. Noah has several disabilites including seizures, muscle control, vision, swallowing and speech. I tell you this not to scare but to help understand. Your sister is about to embarke on a journey that will be very hard but also very rewarding because this journey is the journey of love. Love will give her the strength and family (you) will give her the courage. I am starting a blog and hope to have it up very soon. Please check it out and hopefully you can find more answers.
www.schizaware.org. Help your sister and I assure you the journey will be rewarding. I can not imagine our life without our precious boy.
