Tips and advice for one who is writing their first book?

Hey! Okay, the question says it all. I'm currently in production of writing my first novel and I really would appreciate tips and advice on the writing process!

Don't be critical of yourself.


Don't judge yourself.


Edit.


ALWAYS be proffesional.


Write.


Don't edit.....Heh. You re-read that, didn't you. Edit, but not until you've completed your novel from cover to cover.

Don't give out your writing.


Use proper grammar.


Be describtive, but remember I have a brain.


Readers aren't stupid--if you say your character has green eyes, we get it. No need to tell us every other sentence.


Don't! Overuse! Exclaimation! Points! Gasp!

express your self imagine your self in the place you are writing about give the characters lots of character and just enjoy your self you will do just fine good luck
