Im going to Thailand with my family in two weeks any advice?

Hi! I'm going on holiday to Thailand and was wondering if anyone can share some advice about travelling in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi and Koh Samui. I am 16 and look older, would i get served in most bars etc. How easy is it in Bangkok to find places to shop (staying in the Bel Aire princess Hotel for three days) and one last thing, are there any must do's in the places i'm visiting?

Thanks!Im going to Thailand with my family in two weeks any advice?
If you are in the Bel Air Princess Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 5 you are in a good location for shopping and access to the Skytrain for cheap and easy transportation. You will find shops, street vendors, travel agents for tours, malls, restaurants and bars in this area.

Travel agencies can set you up with tours to many places such as the Bridge on the River Kwai and Floating Market tours. Lots and lots of travel agencies not far from your hotel.

On Sukhumvit Soi 5 you will find the Foodland Supermarket where you can pick up groceries, snacks and drinking water. In that store is a little lunch counter that is open 24 hours a day serving Asian and Western foods.

Visit MBK and Chatuchak (weekends only) for shopping opportunities. MBK can probably occupy you for a whole week if your family is into shopping! Both of these places are off a Skytrain stop.

One option your family can consider is taking a sleeper train up to Chiang Mai. You do have to get the train tickets at least a couple days ahead of time to reserve a sleeper. Train leaves in the early evening and gets into Chiang Mai in the following morning giving you a whole day for tours and sightseeing. Bring a few snacks with you if you take the overnight sleeper; this train will save you from paying for another night in a Bangkok hotel.

Some do's and don'ts:

Google up ';Scams in Bangkok,'; especially tuk-tuk driver scams. Lots of links on scams.

Just because you ';look'; old enough to get served in bars is no reason to drink! When you drink too much (many young people do not know their limits or ';think'; they know everything) you end up drunk and getting in trouble with the police. Getting in trouble with the Thai police will not be the same as getting in trouble back home in your own country! You think you are man enough to drink and the police will throw you in prison with men who will use you for sex! Don't take chances with booze and especially with drugs!

Other than that, have a nice time in Thailand.Im going to Thailand with my family in two weeks any advice?
In bangkok If u are staying in Bel Aire than you are very very close to the main shopping place. As u come out of the street of bel aire,u will see so many shops and some more shops that start after 9:00 in the night till 4:00am.And many many reasonable restaurants that serve u the whole night.

In bkk u can go shopping,Can go to patpong[the main bar place],See some very beautiful malls like --siam paragon, emporium, central chitlom, night market etc.If u r fond of creative things don't miss night market. It is called Suan lung night market.

I think bars there ,they don't serve below 18 .But if u look older, than perhaps they won't mind.

In koh Samui, rent a bike there are so many small islands u wud love to go.

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE UR SUNSCREEN.

Do take a trip to Angthong national marine park.It is a full day trip but it's worth it.What ever u do just don't miss this. There u can c some dream islands.

Same is Krabi they take u on a day trip on small islands.Go snokelling, scuba diving[have to take some classe before doin that though]

Chiangmai ,definitely do the elephant ride,c the elephant doin painting, can c their tradition Thai dance
Thailand is a great country for tourism. The beautiful countryside, beaches, and ancient artifacts! You should get great cell phone reception if you don't go to far away from the cities! You'd be surprised of how many shops there are in Bangkok! It even has a resemblance to our cities in the U.S.

A couple of things you should do there! 1.) Visit their special scuba diving attraction in Koh Samui. 2.) Something I've always wanted to do, *ride an elephant*!!!!! :) HAVE FUN IN THAILAND!!!
Don't do anything I wouldn't do.lol

Are you sure it's a good idea to go out and get drunk

in a place you're not familiar with and surrounded by people

you don't know or have a clue about? Never mind that you're just a minor. Why, get laid of course, that's why most

perverted dirty old farts go to Thailand.
I think Mom and Dad might get mad if you bring a bargirl back to your hotel room, sport.
