Any advice for getting through the second year of high school?

Tomorrow is the 1st day of school. I like it and I want to go, but I'm nervous at the same time. I feel like I barely made it through the 1st year.

Any last-minute advice?Any advice for getting through the second year of high school?
-Get out of your comfort zone and talk to people. If you don't talk to people. you won't meet any new friends. And different people have different influences on you. Plus, if you're stuck on a certain subject, you can ask someone in your class that you're friends with to help you.

-Get to class on time. It's hard at times to make it to class in time but it's necessary you do. The teachers will be strict on you if you're late to their class. Some teachers might be okay with it if it doesn't happen often though.

-Bring all your materials to class. If you forgot your textbook or something in your locker, you might be able to share or borrow it from someone else but it's better to come prepared.

-Participate. You don't have to participate in everything or all the time. Just participate at least sometimes. You'll be closer to your classmates, the teachers will have a good impression on you and it may earn you points if your school/teacher does the point thing.

-You can do sports if you haven't done any yet. Sports are fun and good for you. It's also a way to make friends and it'll look good on your school record since it shows you have sportsmanship.

-Turn in your work on time. Don't put everything to the last minute because you'll realize it's harder and you'll stress out more since you don't have a lot of time to work on it. Plus it'll get you a bad grade if you turn in things late. Or at least one grade lower then what you would of got.

-It's okay to be nervous. Just take a deep breath and know that everything will be okay. It's the 1st day of school so I highly doubt anyone is going to be hard on you.

-Take things slow. Don't rush yourself and don't be in a hurry to make friends or get good grades. Nothing good comes from rushing yourself. You'll only end up making more mistakes and stress yourself out more and annoy yourself. Plus there's a chance you'll suddenly take out your stress on someone else and that won't be good.

-Be helpful. There will be freshmen at your school that might not know where all their classes are. If you can, try going up to them and offering them help. It always make people feel good to help someone. It'll also show people you're nice and people will be interested in becoming friends with you or at least talking to you. And besides, who knows? You might end up becoming friends with that person. And it's good to have a lot of friends. It doesn't matter whether they're a freshmen or higher.

-Ask for help. If you don't understand something or need help, don't hesitate to ask a teacher or friend for help. If you hesitate, you won't be able to learn anything and you'll have a hard time doing the work.

-Enjoy school. School shouldn't be a place where you only stress out. It's high school. You should have fun before you become an adult.

-Choose your friends. Different people will have different influences on you. Choose your friends wisely. Although there are some people who are into smoking and/or drinking but they're not bad people and some will know better than to try and get you involved too. But that ONLY goes for very few people. So choose your friends wisely. You don't want to get into drugs and all that crap. It'll mess you up. That does not mean go and hang out with the popular group so that your social status will be raised. I'm simply telling you to hang out with people you actually like. Not someone everyone else is hanging around or for social status purposes.

-Life isn't easy and it is unfair. There are times things will get hard but you should keep on working at it. Don't give up. It's okay if you break down but don't give up because once you give up, it's over. It's done and all of your previous efforts will be wasted.

-School spirit. Not a whole bunch of people are big on this. It'll seem silly at first to dress up or wear school colors or do all those spirit things and cheering/yelling. However, after you've done it a few times you'll realize how fun it is and no one will laugh at you because there will definitely be people involved in spirit week. Besides, having school spirit will make your school look good and it'll make school funner too.

-If you'e in a bad mood, let people know that you need some alone time so they don't bother you so you don't get irritated or take it out on them. Try to think of things that make you happy or just taking deep breaths. Your friends can also cheer you up. And there will probably be funny things happening around you so that can put in a good mood again too. Just make sure you're not mean about what someone did [like if they fall or something].

Have fun and enjoy high school!Any advice for getting through the second year of high school?
Breathe. There's definitely no point in getting stressed out about it now, so just try to relax and focus on taking things one day at a time. You'll be fine, I promise.

That said, don't procrastinate. Start working on long-term assignments the day they're assigned, and you'll find yourself getting way less stressed than if you wait until the last minute. Also, remember that it's only schoolwork, and it won't kill you.
It's smooth sailing from here my dear. You have all the new freshman that have to have first day gitters and walk into a whole new scene. Just relax and enjoy and get good grades! :)
